Privacy Policy

      Short version: Slay the Gray stores all your data locally on your device.
      The only optional exception is Google Drive backup, which you explicitly opt into —
      and only your own backup file is ever accessed.
    

1. Information We Collect

Slay the Gray does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers. The app operates entirely on your local device.

Specifically, we do not collect:

Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Location data
Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
Any data about your miniature collection, painting sessions, or paint library

2. Local Data Storage

All data you create within the app — including your model collection, painting timers, paint library, photos, streaks, and settings — is stored locally on your device using on-device SQLite storage.

If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed with it. We have no ability to recover your data, as we never had access to it.

3. Google Drive Backup (Optional)

Slay the Gray offers an optional backup and restore feature using Google Drive. If you choose to use this feature, you will be asked to sign in with your Google account.

The app requests access to the drive.appdata scope only. This is a restricted, app-private storage space within your Google Drive that is invisible to other apps and cannot be browsed through the Google Drive UI. We use it solely to store and retrieve your backup file.

We specifically do not:

Read, modify, or access any other files in your Google Drive
Share your Google account information with any third party
Store your Google credentials or backup data on our own servers
Use your Google account for any purpose other than backup and restore

Google Drive backup is entirely optional. The app is fully functional without it. You can revoke access at any time via your Google Account permissions page.

4. Third-Party Services

Beyond the optional Google Drive integration described above, Slay the Gray does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No SDKs that collect user data are included in the app.

5. Permissions

The app may request the following device permissions:

Camera / Photo Library — to capture or attach progress photos to your models. Photos are stored locally on your device only.
Notifications — to send optional local reminders to paint. These are generated on-device and no notification data is sent externally.
Google Sign-In — only requested if you choose to enable Google Drive backup. Used solely to authenticate with your Drive appdata storage.

All permissions are optional and the app remains functional without them.

6. Children's Privacy

Slay the Gray does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data at all, this policy applies uniformly to all users.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how the app handles data in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
